Now I am a bit sceptical about the insistance of the manual on using G11 coolant.....can't i just use standard Halfrauds stuff? I have and am currently using this....is anyone else doing this? Am i going to get problems in the future?
Our Imp with all ally everything can deal with it, what's so special about the Golf engine?
Cheers
John

Hmm i guess nobody knows what coolant to use then? Or have you all put Type 4 engines in your golfs?

Always use Halfords stuff on the White Golf.
Tried to use it in the camper but can't find out where it goes?

I always use coolant from the main steeler. (Get ripped off I know, but it feels like you have bought the correct stuff).

Maybe a bit late in the reply but may help someone!
The Main difference with the proper stuff (VW Genuine) and the cheaper other brands is that the G last for ever and others (like the blue stuff) only last 2 years.
You pay your money and take your chance!!
Comma do a direct copy of the gen vw pink stuff at £19.99 for 5 lt can. it is appoved by all vw brands also so thats a good buy if you dont mind it not being in a "VW" bottle.
The modern stuff is much better than the blue stuff but its all down to choice!
If you run a T25 (Water) make sure you mix 50/50 or you could face a big repair bill and make sure you bleed the system properly as failure to do this tedious task will cause you mega problems. (Ask if you are unsure!) You will need ramps or a tall jack to do it correctly
